Danica Patrick was born on 25th march 1982 in Beloit Wisconsin .Her full name is Danica Sue Patrick .She is an American auto racing driver who competes in the Indicar series.She was raised by an Irish American family and was brought up in roscoe Illinois’s was named to be the rookie of the year after the Indianapolis 500 and the 2005 Indicar series season. She also published her auto biography called Danica : Crossing the line in the year 2006 during the month of May.
Danica Patrick started go karting in the year of 1992 at sugar river raceway which is located just outside Wisconsin. From here on she won several championships. In order to advance her racing career she moved on to England also earning a GED. She mainly focused on her racing career. She raced in various developmental open wheel series while in Europe. She finished second in the highly competitive Formula for festival held in England. This is considered the highest ever finish by a man or a woman who is an American in this event.
In the year of 2002, she signed a multi year deal with the team that comprised of Bobby Rahall’s made several starts in the Barber Dodge pro series and then she moved on to Toyota Atlantic championship for the year 2003.She achieved moderate success with the sponsorship from Argent and driving for the legendary Rahal letterman. When she was doing her time with the Atlantics she won one pole and was a consistent finisher for the podium that is she was always one of the top three. However, it is surprising that she never actually won a race. She finished third in the championship held in 2004.
There was much speculation about where Danica would race after the 2004 season. Rahal Letterman announced that during the off season , she would be racing in the IRL indy car series for the year 2005.She became the 4th woman to qualify for Indianapolis 500 following the footsteps of Janet Guthrie, Lyn St. James and Sarah Fisher on may 29th in the year of 2005.She posted the fastest practice speed for the month at about 229.880mph or about 369.956kmph.
In the year of 2005 she finished 12th in the Indycar series championship with 325 points. In their of 2005 on June 2005 in the 1,2,3 sweep by Rahall letterman’s team she held the pole position becoming the second woman to be able to accomplish this feat after Sarah fisher who did the same in the year of 2002 in Kentucky speedway. Her second pole position was achieved by her in the Kentucky speed way although this time race was prematurely ended by the rain and the position was determined by the speeds achieved during practice.
